Each morning has kicked off with a full-blown battle against an army of spreadsheets — the kind where, if you stared too long, the numbers begin to morph into ancient hieroglyphics. At one point, somewhere between “Is this even real?” and “Did I just accidentally delete March?”, I finally waved the white flag and made a break for The Ruby Slipper for some emergency morale boosting. The Cajun Eggs Benedict there pretty much changed my outlook on life — or at least salvaged my ability to keep booking out our trip (officially locked in through August now, thank you very much). Huge thanks to Nancy Simeon Nelson for the gift card, because without it, there’s a real chance I would’ve been found face-down in a Google sheet somewhere.
Afternoons have been reserved for more important things — namely, seeing how many laps someone can log in the lazy river

before raising public concern. Drinks in hand, sunscreen optional, and big thanks to the ladies in turn 3 for generously providing banana pudding moonshine shooters to make those rotations even more interesting. Not all heroes wear capes.
We managed to sneak in some other seriously good meals along the way too. We checked out The Pelican Grill, a newer spot we hadn’t tried before, and it definitely impressed — fresh, briny oysters and a blackened grouper that absolutely hit

the spot. But the real star was our stop at Tin Top, a true Gulf Shores staple that never misses. The oysters there were next-level — perfectly cold, plump, and salty enough to taste like you were sitting right in the bay. And the Royal Red shrimp? Sweet, tender, and downright addictive. No trip to this area feels right without a Tin Top visit, and they proved once again why they’re a legend among the locals.
Now owners are starting to roll into the park for the upcoming Owners Weekend, and you can feel the whole place starting to buzz. The lazy river laps might get a little more crowded, but the good times are just getting warmed up.
